This program will help you prepare for your upcoming management presentations, in addition to strengthening your ability to prepare and deliver effective communications for a broad range of situations. This highly personalized program will ensure you come across as a team that is able to:

  • Engage investors with presence and a clear, concise, and well-structured storyline

  • Influence them with compelling messages that address their needs and concerns, and promote investment

  • Respond to questions with credibility and confidence

The rest of this page explains how to prepare for the program and provides an overview of the sessions.

Choose material to bring to the program

Those of you who will have a section of the management presentation to deliver will practice presenting the slides created by the bank.

If you do not have a section of the presentation, you will do a 5-10 minute presentation about your area of the business. This could be a summary of achievements, challenges and goals; or it could be a story to highlight one particular initiative that would be exciting to investors. You may use one or two slides from the deck created by the bank, you may create a few slides on your own, or you may decide not to use slides. You can bring work-in-progress.

Do not script yourself or over-prepare. You will have a preparation period on the first day. Bring your laptop.

Overview of the sessions

Day One

Opening

Discuss the upcoming management presentations and link the agenda to them.

Set goals

You set personal goals within our intellectual, emotional, and physical communication skills framework. We create a benchmark video of you. Together, we begin the process of giving and receiving feedback.

Increase presence

You practice telling a brief story — expanding your use of eye contact, voice and body language — to increase your presence, confidence and impact. We make a second video of you.

One-to-one coaching

You review the video from your first two sessions privately with a coach.

Create compelling messages

You use our preparation tools to focus on investor needs, a compelling message, and a clear storyline. You analyze your listeners and then create an outline with a compelling opening, clear messages and an action-oriented close.

Discuss visuals

Discuss how visuals support messages, where they get in the way, and how to use them well.

Practice presenting

You present for up to ten minutes, receive feedback, and experiment with different approaches. We make a third video of you.

One-to-one coaching

You review the video of your presentation privately with a coach.

Day Two

The investment bankers and Sun Capital will join us on Day Two.

We will balance the agenda to achieve three goals:

  1. Do a dry run of the presentation

  2. Answer questions

  3. Continue to build your skills

We will end the day with a discussion of next steps to complete preparing for the management presentations.
